Conduct traffic delay studies
4 . Conduct roadway capacity analysis
5. Conduct travel time analysis in corridor area
6, conduct travel time to and from Rosedale for transit
vehicles
7. Document, coordinate, and prepare report.
Total estimated fee for this report is $40, 000. The vast
majority of the work involves placement and analysis of traffic
counters. Approximately 70 of the budget is allocated for this
task,
For the project to proceed, it is necessary to -gather the
base line data beginning in two weeks, If the project proceeds,
the council should approve the initial expenditure for our share
of the preliminary traffic study even though the ultimate project
has not yet been funded.
I would suggest at this time that ,we recommend to the council
approval of the preliminary traffic analysis by BR W. 1 would
suggest that funding for the $40, 000 study be spl it-7 5
Rosedale, 25 City of Roseville. That world result in a total
charge to the city of $10, 000, Financing could came from the
existing I .S.A. major street fund. According to the proposed
cost estimate, if the project goes ahead our remaining financial
liability would be 21, OOO.
In summary, we believe the project has merit and should proceed.
Even though the proposed traffic management system directly
benefits Rosedale, it will also relieve congestion on the
arterial roadway system. That will certainly benefit residents
of Roseville.
