Oval facility Background* In January of 1993, an original contract was approved between the City and Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, and Associates. These contracts involved design and construction services for the ice system for the Johan Rase oval and a separate contract for the support building design and construction services. Since the original approval date, the scope of the project has increased significantlys In addition to the original ice system and support building, the project has now expanded to include several other features. These are listed as follows 1. Lobby building 2. Entryway/spectator seating facility 3. Community building master plan 4# Snow melt pits - Arena Oval 5. site landscaping 6. Sports netting 7s Score hoard lighting 8. outdoor sports flooring 9e Construction management and project coordination* Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, and Associates has provided engineering services for both the design and construction management of most of these items* The original contract covered only the oval and support building, so a contract amendment is necessary to provide authorization for p �a ent for engineering services for the remaining items. Proposed contract amendments for these items are attached, Policy ob`ectivesl The City Council has approved a policy for selection of consulting engineerse The firm of Bonestroo, Rcsener Anderlik and associates is in the pool of pre--gual ified firms. The original contract has been approved by the council for design services. Because of the significant deviation from the original scope of the project, it is necessary for the council to consider major contract amendments.
