Gatlin, <br /> As property owners along County Road C we would like to <br /> express our concerns and objections to the proposed pathway <br /> on the south side of County Road C. Many of our objections <br /> were brought out- at the public hearing Sep t ember 27 , 1993, <br /> and we would like to reiterate by written comments for your <br /> review. <br /> objections; <br /> 1µ . Size of the pathway. 5 f eet w i th 5 f set of bou 1 evard and <br /> 2 feet beyond is excessive. City standards for walkway is <br /> 5 feet of walk with 4 feet of .bou 1 evard. A width of 5 <br /> feet would boe more than sufficient to accommodate foot <br /> traffic and bicycles. <br /> 2 Placement of pathway. The South side of County Road C is <br /> 110 heavily wooded, many 'dropof f s within the 15 feet of <br /> pathway, the north side of County Road C is flat and <br /> would be easier to construct. <br /> 3. Third lane on the south side of County Road Resulting <br /> i n i ncreas i ng problems with snow removal and where to put <br /> the snow. This is already a problem with the two 1,anes <br /> of snow being plowed into our driveway, now a third lane <br /> is to be added? Where are you going to put the snow's <br /> 4 Danger to children and pedestrian traffic. By only <br /> having sidewalks on one side of the road you are <br /> encouraging children and adults living in the <br /> neighborhood north of County road 0 to cross a very busy <br /> street that has no stop signs to slow traffic. People <br /> w i l l be crossing in the middle of a block and this is <br /> very hazardous. If safety i s a tare concern there should <br /> he sidewalks instal 1 ed on both .s i des of the street <br /> 5 A pathway of this size will affect the value of our <br /> properties. Due to the size of the pathway E d the <br /> material being used, bituminous, the value c- nropert i es <br /> directly affected w i l l be lower than they we be <br />
