Rack round: 1 Section 349030 of the Roseville city Code, designates where above-ground flammable liquid storage tanks can be located. Generally described# that area is north of State Highway 36 and west of Cleveland Avenue, bordered both on the north and west sides by the Roseville City limits. 24. Minnesota Coaches Inc. operates a fleet of buses from their facility at 1743 W. County Road C. They would like to update their current fueling facilities with a new high capacity above-ground diesel fuel tank. Their location is outside of the designated area where above-ground fuel storage tanks are permitted. They are also requesting a variance from the State Fire Marshal's office to have a 10, 000 gall on tank instead of the 6,000 gallon. 3, The City Attorney's office has advised staff that an ordinance amendment would be required to allow Minnesota coaches request. 4. The City Council referred this matter to the planning commission for review and recommendation. 5o The Planning Comm,s s i on, on a 5-1 vote, recommended that the council amend the city code to allow above ground flammable liquid storage tanks as a use b s ecial use permit in non- residential zoning districts. Alternatives: 11 Maintain the City's ordinance as is, restricting above-ground fuel storage tanks to that area currently designated in Section 34. 030 v Amend the city's ordinance to allow above ground tanks as an interim or special use permit. 3,6 Amend the city's ordinance to require that a permit be approved by the council before tanks can be installed.
