Seven bids were received with the base bid amounts ranging from $652,377.19 to $796,000.00. The bid form consisted of a base bid and two alternate bids: Add Alternate A and Add Alternate B. The add alternates considered two styles of railing required at the top of the modular block retaining walls. Add Alternate A is an ornamental style railing and Add Alternate B is a metal pipe style railing' Attached two this letter are two drawings showing each railing style. The bid documents identify the low bid as the sum of the base bid and the Add Alternate selected by the Owner. We have reviewed the bids and find that the bid submitted by Arnt Construction remains the low bid regardless of the alternate selected by the Council.
