REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 4/26/93 <br />ITEM NO: L) �- / <br />Department Approval* Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Organizational Business <br />Item Description: <br />w <br />Policy Determination for Use of Activity center for Mail Drop <br />BACKGROUND <br />For many years the Parks and Recreation Department has allowed several <br />community groups with whom we sponsor recreation programs to use their <br />address. Recently that policy was expanded to allow other community <br />groups that meet at the Activity Center on a regular basis. Concern <br />has been expressed by some citizens about allowing non - affiliated <br />groups to use the city's mailing address <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1; Continue to allow all community groups to use the Activity Center <br />as a mail drop. This would include groups that have 501 3 status <br />and use the Activity Center as a meeting location. <br />1A. Continue to allow all local ' community groups that do. not have a <br />statewide or national of f it iation to use the Activity Center as a <br />mail drop. This would include groups that have 501 3 status and <br />use the Activity Ceriter as a meeting location.; provided that they <br />do not use the "Roseville Activity center" in their address. <br />2. Allow only those groups that have an official affiliation with the <br />City of Roseville. These would include those groups such as youth <br />athletic associations and other non - profit community recreation <br />group providers such as the Bird Club, etc . , with whom a jointly <br />cooperate to provide activities for the community. <br />3.
