Aldine Street. The Planning Commission position <br />placed very important restrictions on Mr's. Curtiss if she is allowed to <br />operate a beauty salon business in her home. We can support her request <br />for a special use hermit in this residential_ area only if the restrictions <br />recommended by the Planning Commission are kept. Specif Ically., the <br />restrictions are that u sign of any kind be a] ]owed on the property and <br />that customers' cars be parked only in the driveway. <br />We think that these do not unduly restrict Mrs._ Curtiss' business. <br />She has said that all her business is by referral,.so she does not need a <br />sign. She and her husband have put Up a nice soaking mailbox with Their <br />name and address prominently marked, so her customers will be able to <br />find her easily. Also, their driveway is long enough to accamodate several <br />carte. <br />The Planning Commission restrictions in this case are necessary to <br />protect the peace and quiet, and the appearance of this neighborhood, as a <br />desirable residential neighborhood. <br />We dive directly across Ryan avenge from the Curtiss home.r Like <br />many of our neighbors, we have I Ived here many years. <br />We count on each of you to protect this f Ine residential <br />neighborhood tram the encroachment of commercial signs, traff is and <br />businesses and the vandalism and crime that sometimes come uvith such <br />encroachment in residential areas. <br />Allowing the invasion of good residential neighborhoods by <br />commercial businesses wild seriously damage Rosevil le's reputation as a <br />good place to Eive.
