INTERNATIONAL SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP C1TY OF RUSEV= MIl4NE30TA, i15A The Sister Cities program is designed to encourage friendly and meaningful exchanges between communities in the United States and communities in other countries. The Roseville City Council has established a Sister City committee to explore the possibility of the Roseville community entering into this type of relationship with other communities of the world, The committee has as its mission: 'To foster good will and understanding between the people in the Roseville community and other people of the world on a person -to- person basis., This is to be accomplished by identifying communities and people in other countries who have an interest in establishing an on -going cultural exchange program with people in the Roseville area. The types of two -way activities that the committee will be trying to establish include: Exchange tours of special interest groups, school groups, business groups, and clubs, where the participants could be hosted be hosted by local families; Exchange of students and other people who would like to experience living in another culture; Exchanges/assistance in business and-economic endeavors Exchange of letters between students and other people who are interested in pen - pal realtionships; and Exchange of cultural exhibits and activities that highlight the art, music, daily life, holiday customs, food, and other aspects of the sister city. The procedure to begin this program would be by first establishing informal relationships with other communities Wkiendship City), when these relationships develop into a positive exchange, a more formal sister city relationship lister City), involving city officials from both cities, would be established.
