REQUEST POR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: 4/12/93 <br />ITEM NO. : 1:1) aw q <br />Department A rovaI � Manager reviewed : Agenda Section, <br />Consent Agenda <br />item Description: No�parking- resolutions for Garden Avenue and Parker <br />Avenue (MSA roadways), <br />Background: on March 8 and 9, 1993, the city Council held public <br />improvement hearings for the 1993 PMP. Neighborhoods 60 and 62 were two <br />of the neighborhoods approved for reconstruction. one street in each of <br />these neighborhoods is a Municipal State Aid (NSA) roadwa �vw Garden <br />Avenue from Hamline Avenue to Lexington Avenue in Neighborhood 60 and <br />Parker Avenue Avenue from Lexington Avenue to Victoria street in <br />Neighborhood 62. Both of these streets are proposed to be built at a <br />width of 341 face -to -face and require by state guidelines prohibition of <br />parking on one side. <br />Financial implications: The cost to reconstruct both MSA roadways will <br />be reimbursed by MSA funds. To qualify for funds, the work Faust meet <br />MA standards. <br />Schedule: The work is antic' pated to start in May for Garden Avenue and <br />in July for parker Avenue. The projects should be completed by October <br />of 1993. <br />Staff recommendation: Since these projects Were ordered in under the <br />1993 PMP projects and the MSA standards re wire the prohibition. of <br />parking due to the Width design, staff reco?aends 'the City Council pass <br />a resolution prohibiting parking on the south side for Garden Avenue and <br />the north side for parker Avenue. <br />1 CoIMNDLD COUNCIL ACTION* <br />m <br />Adoption of resolutions prohibiting parking olrl the south side of Garden <br />Avenue from Hamline Avenue to Lexington Avenue and prohibiting parking <br />on the north'side of parker Avenge from Lexington Avenue to victoria <br />Street. <br />
