1178 County Rd B W
Roseville, MN 55113
6121488 -4416
Steve Sarkozy, City er
City of Roseville
2660 Civic meter Dr,
Rosmft, 1 55113
Dear Mr. Sarkozy:
15 February 1993
7
Ljj..,. -
After reading Mr. chr er's lamer in the February 9 Focus News, I was amazed and appalled that
Roseville city std` would allow such an obviously political group to use the Parks creation office as
a nailing address. Would you allow either the Democratic Farmer Labor or hndependent Republican
parties to use a City office as a ding address? I think not! Those Roseville citiz= who do not closely
follow local politics and local govemment will see this address. and may wrongly assume that the Roseville
Cans Council is either a part of our local government or has been endorsed by our local government.
What standards or criteria does a political group need to m t in order to get a City sponsored nzi ng
address .9
If you have any doubts that the Roseville CtUzms Council is a political organization, you only need to read
Mr. chrenker's letter. Farts of the letter are quoted below:
`'We were instrumental in doping a good controlling or &nonce for Roseville and we have
been and will continue to be active in monitoring gambling.... The gambling situation in
RoseWlle could change in November of 1993 when three o, the five voting seats on the council
are up or election. r
As a life member of the National Rifle Association, I can uncategorically state that the Roseville Citizens
Council is as non-political as the NRA. The only difference is that N A freely and openly admits to being
a political organization.
Therefore I damand that you inunediately take the necessary a o to teminate the use of the Parks and
Recreation office as a nail drop for the RoseviHe Citizens Council. Please notify me as soon as this
troubling natter has lem corrected.
Best Regards
William J.
enclosure
