I d like to serve on the Human Rights Commission as I have <br />a strong interest in issues concerning human rights and would <br />enjoy participating in public education efforts and assisting <br />in the resolution of discrimination complaints. My background <br />in Intercultural Communication and Teaching English as a <br />Second Language provides me with a unique perspective. I've had <br />extensive experience working with people of diverse backgrounds <br />and I believe that diversity can be a great asset to any <br />community. <br />My husband Joe and I are both natives of St . Paul . we have <br />only lived in Roseville since November,, 1992. Prior to that time <br />we were struggling college students and Mien we were struggling <br />college graduates moving from Minneapolis to Denver to Boston <br />to Maplewood to Roseville where we bought our first home and plan <br />to stay. Owning a home and being part of a community are not <br />things which I take for granted.- I intend to tape personal <br />responsibility for making Roseville a good place for us to <br />Live and for our daughter to grow up. <br />
