PUBLIC SAFETY VISION Roseville shall be a community with minimal fear and worry over personal safety by our residents, or the potential for significant loss of property. This feeling of safety comes because we are a community of thoughtful and caring people who. place great emphasis upon prevention, planning, and prompt response to requests for emergency assistance, and we have implemented plans to mitigate and ameliorate public safety problems. GOALS Community Crime, Prevention q Heighten individual and family awareness and accountability in basic crime prevention strategies in order to head off the potential for criminal behavior. Assist individuals and families in becoming stakeholders in our community through intensive public information and community outreach efforts. Increase parental responsibility and accountability for the actions of their children. - Heighten family awareness of the need for "child well- being", including sound nutrition, basic health care, effective parenting practices, and sound educational programs. Assist individuals and families in implementing basic crime prevention strategies to avoid reliance on police as the primary means of ensuring public safety. - Enforce a curfew ordinance consistently throughout the community. - Develop and train neighborhood watch groups in 100 percent of Roseville neighborhoods and to assist such groups in remaining active and visible. Develop and implement comprehensive leisure program options for school age children and youth with emphasis upon nonathletic alternatives. To ensure accessibility, a means for transportation to and from activities should be developed. - Assist in the development of licensed, affordable child care options within the community, especially during nonschool hours;
