We are honoring
that contract- to the best of our ability and are very concerned
when an article appears on the front page of the local* paper
suggesting that there "s a problem with the current contract,
service, or relationship between our two communities. Please
help us understand these concerns.
I have net heard anything directly from the City cf. Lauderdale,
nor an I aware of any concern being expressed to the Police
Department that would give us an ,indication of the problems
expressed in the Focus. As cities work cooperatively'
acperat ive l y ' on a more
frequent basis, we need to be particularly careful with the
delicate balance of public perception, mutual trust, and a dear
understanding of -one another' s points of view. We ask your help
in understanding better Lauderdale's situation and feelings about
our Police Contract.
Your help on this matter will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
(:Oka
r
Steven R.
