Other Business <br />A. Council Discussion and Direction- Regarding the 2004 <br />City Budget <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn noted that he had received a request <br />from two of the City Councilmembers to look at the <br />summary of suggested budget reductions identified in the <br />October 27, 2003 staff report from Finance Director <br />Miller, to determine consensus. Mayor Kysylyczyn <br />further noted That some reductions would affect the <br />property tax levy, while some would reduce tax burdens <br />for the citizens of Roseville. <br />Suggested Reduction <br />Suggested Amount <br />Reduce LMCIT insurance prermum <br />$50,000 - $1001,000 <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Kough seconded, reduction of the <br />LMC IT insurance premium at a savings of $140,000. <br />Finance Director Miller noted that $50,000 of this amount <br />was tax - supported funds, with the other $50,000 in special <br />funds, but the reduction would give an overall savings of <br />$10020001 <br />win <br />Ayes: Maschka, Schroeder, Kough, Klausing and <br />Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays; None. <br />Suggested Reduction <br />Sugeested Amount <br />-Reduce COLA from 3.0% to 2.3% <br />$35,000 — 70 -2000 <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Klausing seconded, reducing the 2004 <br />Cost of Living Adjustment to employee wages from 3% to <br />2.3 % for a cost savings of approximately $7'0,000. <br />Councilmember Kough noted he did not support 2.3 %, <br />Other Business <br />Council Discussion <br />and Direction <br />Regarding the 2004 <br />City Budget <br />
