REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date* 12/08/03 <br />Item No..- V1. <br />Department ApprovaI: Manager Reviewed Agenda Section <br />Ides <br />4 X5&ea Hearings <br />on: Liquor License renewals for the year 201140 <br />Staff is in the process of renewing all liquor licenses for the year 2004. The licenses to be renewed <br />include twenty -three (23) On -Sale (maximum 30 allowed by state stature), eight (8) Ofd Sale <br />(maximum of 10 allowed by ity ordinance), four (4) Club, nine (9) wine, thirteen (13) On -Sale 3, <br />Ikon- Intoxicating Malt Liquor, nine (9) Off -Sale 3.2 Non - Intoxicating Malt Liquor (City ordinance <br />or state statute do not limit the number of the last four types of licenses ). The Police Chief has <br />reviewed the records, and finds no reasons for denial of the licenses. The City Attorney will review <br />the applications prior to the issuance of licenses to ensure they are in order. <br />Financial Implications <br />The estimated revenue of $1935790 that is generated from the license fees collected is used to offset <br />the cost of police compliance checks, background investigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and <br />license administration. <br />Council Action <br />Lotion approving/denying the renewal of the following liquor licenses for calendar year 2004 with <br />the condition that all required application items be submitted before the licenses may be issued. <br />
