0 M <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />TITLE ONE9 SECTION 06 <br />FILLING A COUNCIL VACANCY <br />THE CITY OF RO EVILLE ORDAINS: <br />SECTION I: Title one,, Section 103.06 of the Roseville City Code is added to read as <br />follows: <br />103.06: FILLING A COUNCIL VACANCY <br />A. ointment: The Council shall appoint an eligible verson to fill a vacancy on the <br />City Council as soon as is practicable after the vacancy occurs. The vers on <br />a ointed shall serve for the unexpired portion of the tern_ ` <br />-�� - -- p ..._� unless a special <br />election is required hereunder or by state law. <br />E. Special Election: A special election shall he held to fill a vacancy on the C4y <br />Council created when a councilmember is elected to and assumes a Iii her offi�� <br />if more than Finsert number months remains in the unexvired term and the <br />vacancv occurs more than rinsert number months before the next reaular tit <br />election. For purposes of this section the term "higher office" is defined as insert <br />definition here]. This special election shall he held as soon after the vacant is <br />declared as is practical under state law and after a special primary election if one is <br />required hereunder. In all other vacancies, a special election shall occur as <br />required b state law.
