City of Roseville ORDINANCE No. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE ONE, SECTION 103.06 FILLING A COUNCIL VACANCY THE CITY of 1 O EVILLE ORDAINS: SECTION 1: Title One, Section 103.06 of the Roseville City Code is added to read as follows: 103.06: FILLING A COUNCIL VACANCY A. Appointment: The Council shall „apooint._an eligible person to fill a vacancy on the City Council as soon as is practicable after the vacancy occurs. The v erson appointed shall serve for the unexiDired portion of the term unless a s ecial election is required hereunder or by state law. E. Special Election: A special election shall he held to fill a vacancy on the fit Council created when a councilmember is elected to, and assumes, an incorn atihle office, if more than insert number months remains in the unexpired tern and the vacancy occurs more than [insert number] ( ) months before the next regular cily election. This special election shall he held as soon after the vacancv is declared as is practical under state law and after a special nmM electron if one is required hereunder. In all other vacancies a s ecial election shall occur as required her state law. The manner of, and periods fir, filing filigg as a candidate and the conduct of the special election shall be conducted as in all other regular city elections. - C. Special PrimaKy Election: whenever there are more than two (2) candidates to fill a City Council vacancy, a s ec i al primary election shall be held as soon after the vacancy is declared as is practical under state law.
