14#- j4 -, dr,�*W 110 r4 <br />lea n <br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey} Minnesota was duly held on the 17th day of November 2003 at <br />ff <br />7 :00 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION <br />Council resolution authorizing City participation in the Ramsey County Technology <br />Coalition study: <br />WHEREAS, the use of information technology by city departments has become an <br />increasingly important tool to provide high quality public services to the citizens of Roseville, <br />and will become even more critical in the future as the public familiarity with and demand for <br />electronic government services continues to increase* and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the interest of Roseville residents and business partners that local <br />units of government leverage their investments in technology, business applications, and the <br />collection,, use and dissemination of data to the extent that doing so minimizes costs of <br />developing and maintaining the infrastructure and alloys for the acquisition and use of <br />technology solutions that improves services and allow local governmental units to operate more <br />effectively; and <br />WHEREAS, The Ramsey County League of Focal Governments has identified as its top <br />priority the development of a county -vide joint powers agreement to create a Technology <br />Coalition in order to allow local units of government to more efficiently utilize technology and <br />computer systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has adopted a resolution <br />inviting the members of the Ramsey County League of Local Governments and the City of Saint <br />Paul to participate in a joint study to assess the feasibility} opportunities, costs, and risk of <br />dcveloping a single management and technology entity to meet the business needs of <br />participating units of governnment; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed joint study is to be overseen by a Project Policy Task Force, <br />consisting of elected officials or their designees from govemm ent units participating in the study; <br />and <br />Attachment <br />
