Regular City Council Minutes — 9!22/03 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 7 <br />lot that could support something larger than what code <br />permits. <br />Councilmember Maschka sought clarification from Mr. <br />Welsch on square footage issues related to the home's <br />footprint calculation if it were a rambler. <br />Ayes: None. <br />Nays: Maschka, Klausing, Kough and Kysylyczyn, <br />Kough moved, Kysylyczyn seconded adoption of a <br />resolution granting building of a 1,007 square foot <br />detached accessory building (garage ), requiring both a <br />Conditional Use Pernut (CUP) and Variance, at 1014 <br />Sherren Avenue. <br />Councilmember Klausing spoke against the motion, due to <br />the 1,007 square fool size of the garage, seeking consensus <br />for an 864 square foot garage that wouldn't require a <br />Conditional Use Permit and wouldn't set a precedent. <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in support of the motion, <br />reminding Councilmember Klausing of precedent already <br />set in changing the aesthetics of a neighborhood on <br />Dunlap Avenue. <br />(allimi I I <br />Ayes: Kough and Kysylyczyn. <br />Nays: Maschka and Klausing. <br />Motion failed. <br />Klausing moved, Maschka seconded approval of a motion <br />granting a Variance to allow for construction of an <br />accessory building (detached garage) not to exceed 864 <br />square feet, at 1019 Sherren Avenue. <br />Further discussion ensued related to the preference in <br />building size of the applicant, and that being considered by <br />the Council. <br />
