Explanation: Council is currently spending $35,000 per year on Roseville's 1-35W Corridor Coa- lition membership. Last year, Council cut all Rose- ville funding for membership in the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities and the Municipal Leg- islative Commission. For 2004, the Council just recommended reducing by 0% or more Roseville's funding for the Ramsey County League of Local Governments. Accordingly, I recommend the 1 -w Corridor Coalition funding be reduced 0 %. ii. Explanation: Council is currently spending $5,000 per year for the Ambassador Association to support a poise and beauty contest and to have the ferrule ambassadors attend public events. Until last year, this activity was supported solely and very success- fully by the private sector. This expenditure of pub- lic funds is hard to justify as a core City function when it was so successfully run solely with private sector funds and when the City is losing $700,000 in annual funding and incurring $1.375 million more in annual expenses.
