Bench ordinance -- REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE
All,
I got the same message on the request to continue the bus bench ordina nc a ,. Since we
said that it was going to be on the agenda for next Monday, I plan to put it on. I have
no problem and would support moving the discussion to a future date. I would like someone
to confirm that September 15 is the date that would work. Also, I would like to make sure
that we have all of the council questions on the table so we will be able to take action
on Sept 15 to wrap this issue up. It has been dragging on for too long-
Thanks,
Mayor John Kysylycz n
3083 Victoria Street
Roseville, MN 55113
johnk@usfamily.net
Home office: 551 -484 -1384
Cell: 551 -395 -5337
- - - -- Original Message---- -
From: mayor0ci.roseville.mn.us
Seat: Wednesday, July 30, 2003
To: johnk@usfamily.net
Subject: Firs: Bench Ordinance ,
Importance High
[mailto : mayor@ci . roseville . mn. us a
3 :01 PM
REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE
> _- __ - - - -_-
> From: Fleets, Neal
> Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2003 3:00:58
> TO: *RV Council
> Cc: 'Scott T. Bench ordinance -- REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE
> Importance: High
> Auto forwarded by a Rule
All, I have received two requests f rom count i lmembe rs to continue the bench ordinance
issue until your September 15 meeting. (You have told me l.ly Danielson is not available
to attend any of the Council's August council
meetings.)
Under the Council's rules the mayor sets the agenda. Since the mayor identified this item
at your 7/21 council meeting as one that would come back on a council agenda in a week or
two (and he also confirmed from the dais at the end of your 7/2B meeting that it would be
on the 8/4 agenda) t I am obliged to put the item on the agenda for 8/4 and I will do so.
Then it is the mayor's decision whether to strife this bench ordinance issue or not from
the 8/4 agenda .
If the mayor takes the item off the 8/4 agenda, that would seem to meet the requests from
two of you for a continuance.
If the ,Mayor chooses to leave the item on the 8/4 agenda, then a councilmember could -move
at that meeting to corit.inue the item to your 9/15 meeting.
That is how I see this agenda issue. Of course, the mayor or the city attorney may have
other thoughts.
1
