Contribution -- should the City move to a uniform City contribution regardless of whether an employee has a family or <br />even chooses the City's insurance, or should the City contribution remain variable based on whether the employee <br />chooses the City's insurance and the employee's family status. <br />Union contracts become a concern here as follows: <br />1. t.ELS and Teamsters Language for 2002 - The EMPLOYER will contribute up to a maximuil <br />of four hundred ninety -one dollars and twenty -one cents (491.21) per month per employee <br />for Calendar 200 2, or the same amount which it contributes for all other City employees, <br />whichever amount is greater. <br />This language is 20.83/mo. more than the uniform cafeteria contribution <br />amount. If Council voted to allow for this additional funding to keep this <br />language in the collective bargaining agreements then the financial impact on <br />the City's budget in 2004 would he approximately an additional 40,500/yr., <br />2. 49er Language - Effective .Tanury 1, 2003, the EMPLOYER will contribute an amount equz <br />to that being received by non- unionized clerical, technical, professional and managerial <br />employees for employees and their dependents for health insurance, life insurance, and <br />disability insurance.
