DepartmenjApproval: <br />Ll <br />j <br />Manager Reviewed <br />Item Description: 2003 Fall Leaf program Discussion <br />DATE. 08/18/03 <br />Agenda Section <br />Reports/Recommendations <br />Background: The City Council directed staff to return at the August 18, 2003, meeting with a <br />plan to discontinue the Leaf Collection Program and to close the compost site on Dale Street. <br />We have attached an action plan (Attachment ) showing the action steps, schedule, and cost <br />implication. <br />We have received many e- mails and phone calls about this issue. we have attached a packet <br />including copes of a -mails and a listing of comments received via telephone. (Attachment 13) <br />We have had some discussion with Ramsey County regarding the potential closing of the <br />compost site. They have indicated it would be a substantial burden on their sites and budget. <br />They have also indicated they doubt whether they would consider looping for a site tear or in <br />Roseville to service Roseville residents. <br />Attached is a map showing the Ramsey County compost site locations. (Attachment ) we have <br />included a listing of waste hauler yard waste rates for 2003.
