However, I don't think the compost site should be closed as wall! That seems
to be putting a double burden on residents - the leaves won't be picked up and they won't
be able to bring them to the compost site. The only alternative is to bag the leaves and
have the trash hauler pick them up at a Hefty price.
Roseville is blessed with the beauty of many trees, which drop a lot of leaves in the fall.
(50 or more bags in my yard alone) . My family uses both the leaf pick up and the compost
site to rid us of leaves. Some residents, faced with the inconvenience and with paying a
high price to have their leaves hauled away, may dump them where we don't want them to -
.in one of the city's parrs or open spaces. If the city doesn't offer curbside leaf
collection, I believe it should provide residents with an alternative, like the compost
site_ Before the city council votes on this issue, please give it more thought and
consider alternatives to and consequences of discontinuing both services. I believe a
small fee or tax specifically for the purpose of keeping at least the compost site open
may be a better solution
LuAnn Olson
399 Woodruff Avenue
Roseville, MN
651 - 488 -6052
olson@commonbond.org
LuAnn Olson
CommonBond Communities
651 - 290 -6235
olson@ commonbond . org
1
