Section 3. HRA Housing Goals <br />Through a series of study sessions the HRA reviewed the housing needs <br />assessment of the City as well as the Vista 2000 Report and the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. Through that process the HRA iden tified the following <br />housing goals that directly relate to achieving the Housing Vision Statement <br />for the Community. <br />I. To provide a balance of h ousing in price and product type to meet life <br />cycle needs of the community the HRA 'sgoals are: <br />1.1 Provide a link between Roseville seniors moving out of existing <br />single family homes and young families seeking first time purchase <br />options. Provide alternate housing for those seniors to enable <br />them to remain a vital part of the community. <br />1.2 Preserve existing housing and develop new housing in partnership <br />with federal, state and regional agencies and non - profit community <br />groups and private sector development partners. <br />1.3 Prohibit Intrusion of Incompatible Land Uses to Preserve <br />Neighborhoods. <br />1.4 Develop and promote programs that provide choice and diversity in <br />the housing stock to include a variety of affordable housing <br />options. <br />2. To promote the City as a safe community with a enhanced quality of life <br />and a sense of community, the HRA 's goals are: <br />2.1 Provide information regarding the importance of quality and <br />diverse housing opportunities and close -knit neighborhoods to <br />faster a sense of community. <br />2.2 Increase awareness of the Housing &Redevelopment Authority to <br />all levels of the community both internally and externally. <br />2.3 Increase awareness of housing programs and the services of the <br />Housing Resource Center that are available to all residents, <br />property owners, etc <br />Housing Plan — 2004 Page 8 Roseville HRA <br />
