3. Recycling Carts <br />Each residential Dwelling Unit ("RDU"') be requi <br />red to receive a 64 gallon <br />cart. lifter ninety (90) days use, this cart may be upgraded to a 96 gallon or down <br />graded to 32 gallon cart at the resident's Tequest. The City shall retain ownership <br />of all carts in use at the termination of the recycling Agreement. <br />Initial delivery of 64 gallon carts to all RDUs shall be made within ninety (90) <br />days of the date of the agreement. The entire costs of the cart, cart delivery, cart <br />repair and cart replacement shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. <br />4. purchase of 18-Gallon Bins <br />The Contractor agrees to purchase the remainder of the City's 18-gallon blue <br />recycling bins and lids. The Contractor will coordinate the pick up of the bins <br />with the delivery of the new carts. The Contractor will reimburse the City at a rate <br />of $5.50 for each bin and $3.25 for each lid. <br />5. Promotion and Public Education <br />The Contractor and the City shall work together in the preparation and distribution <br />of educational materials to insure accurate information and program directions. <br />The Contractor shall submit a draft of any public education literature for approval <br />by the City, at least one (1) month prior to printing and release of any such <br />literature. <br />The Contractor shall mail to each 1U a letter alerting residents to the change in <br />service and to the program for pick -up of the recycling bins. That mailing will <br />include a direct phone number that will be answered by a live person(s) who will <br />be responsible for answering questions about the change in service. <br />The Contractor shall provide a twelve -month calendar with the weeks of recycling <br />collection highlighted to be included in the informational packet that will be <br />delivered with the recycling carts; and provide a calendar to each 1U for each <br />contract year thereafter, <br />The Contractor shall furnish to the City's cable channel an educational video on <br />`;single sort" recycling for airing during the startup period. <br />6. Disposal of leeyclables and Process residuals <br />Contractor shall use its best efforts to assure that all recyclable materials received <br />for processing are not placed in landfills or incinerated and are distributed to the' <br />appropriate markets for reuse. The Contractor shall dispose of no more than 5% <br />of material (by weight) as process residuals or as waste residuals as part of <br />0) <br />
