Defiru"tions (Section 1002) have been revised to be more current. There are no major changes in intent, but rather in clarity and format. Eventually, this portion of the Code should be more accessible electronically. 1.2 Over the past two years, with the Planning Commission, the planning staff has compiled sections of the zoning code into a set of "bite- size "' ordinances, ready for review and revision. These existing regulations are outdated in terminology (written more than 40 years ago) and in format. They have no consistency throughout the Code. For a property owner or developer (as well as city staff) they have been hard to find and interpret. 13 The City Council held the first reading on July 21, 2003. There were no p oblic comments. 2.0 PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: On July 9, 2003, the Planning Commission reviewed the draft ordinance and found it consistent with work previously done by the Commission and staff. The Planning g ommission recoi rriended approval 5.0. and encouraged the Council to hold a first reading on the rewritten definitions Section of Title 10 (Zoning) of the City Code.
