(EDT) <br />Wednesday, July 16, 2003 <br />CONSUMER PRICE INDEX: JUNE 2003 <br />The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI -U) increased 0.1 <br />percent in June, before seasonal adjustment, the Bureau. of Labor Statistics. <br />of the U.S. Department of Labor reported. today. The June level of 1 83. 7 <br />(1952 -84 =100) was 2.1 percent higher than in June 2002. <br />The Consumer Price Index for Urban wage Earners and Clerical workers <br />(CPI -w) increased 0.1 percent in June, prior to seasonal adjustment. The <br />June level of 179.6 was 2.1 percent higher than in June 2002. <br />Hourly and Weekly Earnings (Est l i shmen t Survey Data <br />Average hourly earnings of production or nonsupervisory workers on private <br />non -farm payrolls increased by 3 cents in June to $15.38, seasonally <br />adjusted. <br />Average weekly earnings rose by 0.2 percent over the month to $515.31. over <br />the year, average hourly earnings grow by 3.0-percent and average weekly <br />earnings increased by 2.1 percent.. <br />
