�� -Sol <br />ff <br />DATE: 07/28/03 <br />ITEM: XI. B. <br />Background.- The final bid package for the City Hall and Maintenance Facility is scheduled for <br />an August 11, 2003, hid opening. This package includes all electrical, mechanical, masonry, and <br />finish bid groups to complete the building. The sitework and structural contracts have been <br />awarded by the Council previously to facilitate a schedule that will enclose the buildings before <br />extremely cold weather hits this winter. <br />In order for the excavation to begin in early August for the Public Safety Addition, the water <br />service for existing City Hall needs to be re- routed. The work outside of the building was <br />completed by the sitework contractor. The work inside and through the wall of the building <br />needs to be completed by a mechanical contractor. <br />Icough has obtained quotes for this work from three mechanical contractors. This work will <br />be performed per project plan and specification as detailed by the architectural firm. <br />Recommendatiom Staff recommends award to Harris Mechanical for the relocation of the <br />existing water service within existing City Hall to Harms Mecha ' cal for $14,470. <br />RECOMMEENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Motion to approve bid for mechanical work to Harris Mechanical for the sum of $14,470. <br />Prepared By: Duane Schwartz <br />
