C. Landscaping in Parking Area. <br />2 <br />. Five percent (5%) of the surface area of the lands within a parking area shall be <br />4 landscaped with grass, shrubbery, trees and /or other approved ground cover. <br />5 All areas of land otter than occupied by building and /or hardstand (parking <br />6 areas and driveways) shall be landscaped with sod and/or mulch and/or rock <br />7 material in planting beds where appropriate. Parking lots of fifty (50) or more spaces are required to have one hundred fifty <br />(150) square feet of landscaped islands per twenty -five (25) parking spaces. <br />One overstory or evergreen tree is required for every one hundred fifty (150) <br />12 square feet of interior landscaped area. The minimum width of landscape <br />13 islands is six feet (6) and the minimum area is one hundred fifty (150) square <br />14 feet. <br />15 <br />16 3. The minimum number of overstory trees on any given site shall be one <br />17 overstory tree per fifty feet (50) of parking lot frontage plus trees required for <br />18 parking lot islands. Other understory trees, shrubs, flowers and ground covers <br />19 deemed appropriate for a complete quality landscape treatment of the site <br />0 shall be included in addition to the required minimurn of overstory trees.) <br />1 Berning used to provide required screening of parking lots and other open <br />areas shall have a maximum slope ratio of three to one (3:1). (10io.14) <br />3 <br />4 4. Front Yard Setbacks: Front yard setbacks shall have a screen that is eighty <br />5 percent (80 %) opaque and a height of two and one -half feet (2 1/2). The <br />6 screen may be: (1010.14E3) <br />7 <br />a. Plant materials; <br />9 <br />30 b. wood, concrete, masonry or ornamental iron; or <br />1 <br />32 c. A combination of these materials. <br />4 5. plant Size: Plant size requirements for landscaping areas shall be as follows: <br />35 (1010.14E4) <br />36 <br />7 a. Deciduous trees shall be at least two and one -half inches (2 1 / ") in <br />38 diameter as measured four feet (4) from the base at the time of planting. <br />3 <br />40 b.
