In 1986 -87 four other neighborhoods and communities organ - <br />ized their own Programs (two in St. Paul, one in Minneapolis, and one in rural Minnesota). <br />At the same time the Maoalester/ roveland and West 7th neighborhoods of St. Paul were <br />selected to implement the Living at Home Program as part of the National Living at Home <br />Demonstration Project The two models were merged 'in 1991 to form the Living at <br />Home /Block Nurse Program (LAH /BNP). <br />Living at Home /Block Nurse Program Inc. was established 'in 1987 as a separate non - profit <br />resource center to promote the LAHIBNP concept nationwide, and to seek to effect societal <br />change in the way alders are cared for. <br />In 1 998 the LAH /B N P Inc. board of directors established Elderberry I nstitutO 16 tov fd " oee <br />focused support to the growing network of community Living at Horne /Bloch 4"ur—''` <br />both inside and outside Minnesota and to extend the benefits of the Program M �:r A`� dF <br />tional cormunities. e <br />N'x <br />There are currently more than, i at Home <br />/Block 1Bleek a Programs In IVItnnesota,­and <br />several in Texas, <br />
