Purpose. The Roseville City Code, Title 7, Section 703 +05, Beaches in Right of <br />Way is hereby amended by addict or revising language � � gunge necessary to defame shelters as bus stop <br />structures which, after receiving proper permits, may be placed in the Right of Way. pia The purpose <br />� <br />of this ordinance is to provide added public safety, comforts cleanliness, lighting and access to <br />public transit stops. <br />ECTION . Section 703.05 is hereby amended as follows <br />703 ;05: BUS STOP STRUCTLI]RES IN RIGHT of WAY: <br />No bench or shelter may be placed or maintained in a public right of war without secures a <br />permit from the Public works Director and the payment of an annual license fee of ` twenty fire <br />dollars 0 . <br />$25 . A permit shall not be issued <br />unless the bench or shelter and its placement comply with the following conditions: <br />A. Bus Stops: A bench or shelter may only be placed at a bus step on an established bits route. <br />B. Location: A bench or shelter shall be placed no nearet than four feet (4') from the roadway <br />curb or the edge of the roadway where no curb exists and shall not obstruct a pathway. <br />Y <br />C. Number: loo more than one bus bench or i s shelter may be placed at a roadway intersection <br />in the direction of traffic flow. <br />D. Proximity To Other Benches or Shelters: No bus bench or shelter maybe placed within five <br />hundred feet (504') of any other bench or shelter on a roadway. <br />E. Size: The maximum size of a bench shall be three and one -half feet (3 112 '} high, seven feet <br />(7') long and three feet (3'} wide erected upon a concrete pad of maximum eight feet (S') <br />length and four feet (4') width with walkway to the curb or raadway_edge. The maximum <br />size of a bu,s shelter shall be ten (t0) feet in height, Fourteen (14) feet length, and five (5) feet <br />in width erected upon a concrete pad of maximum size fifteen (7 5) feet in Iength and six (6) <br />feet in width. The length of a shelter shall be determined by the Public Works Director and <br />shall be dependent upon the number of buses or vehicles and users that frequent the bus stop. <br />F. Color: A bench or shelter shall be of a singe color except a multicolored advertising sign. <br />The bench signage maybe affiaced to or may be used as the backrest of the bench. The shelter <br />sigxaage maybe up to two (2 ), four feet (4') by six feet (6') advertising panels in a 2 -sided `V <br />display affixed to the end wall of the shelter (or road wall on a narrow z-ight -of-way <br />application) and perpendicular to the roadway curb or edge viewable from one or bath ends <br />
