Beta -Mu Scholarship and Academic Assistance Fund. 1990 to Present — Treasurer. This is a fund for a [university of Minnesota academic fraternity organization. St. Paul Audubon Society. Served two gears on audit committee. Christmas Bird Count Chair for three years. Please state -your reasons for wary tine to serve on this Commission. I have been an adult resident of Roseville since 1983 and a homeowner since 1984. My wife and I have four children in the Roseville School District and all have participated in a wide variety of programs offered through the Parks department. Through my active participation in numerous programs spanning different departments (organizations) in Roseville, I have come to appreciate the delicate balance in allocating resources to the many different constituents that reside in our City. My main concern for the Parks and Recreation Department is in maintaining the fine system of parrs we currently have and in continuing to offer the extensive programs that are currently offered. As Roseville continues on its path as an aging community, its leaders need to take measures to ensure that the attributes that made this community vibrant are there for future generations. I strongly believe that the Parks department is one of those attributes that have made this a wonderful city to live and raise a family in. What is your view of the role of this o ris = -: This Commission should be a conduit for the flow of information between the City Council, the public and the Parks Department conceming the allocation of Park Department services. The Commission should represent the opinions of the residents of the City of Roseville as it relates to ghat they want and do not want front the Parks Department. on the other hand, the Commission should be able to convey to the residents an understanding of the benefits that a well run Parks Department has to offer this City. Finally, the commission should be able to draw on the experience and expertise of its individual members as it relates to Park and Recreation issues. Other Comments: I am seeking a reappointment to an additional term on this commission. I believe over the past three years I have offered this commission, the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department and the citizens of Roseville intrinsic value and served with integrity. Two continuing goals would be to continue the rote of commissioner goals and to continue the pursuit of effectively funding our extensive pathway system. 2
