DATE: 03/21/03 <br />03 <br />ITEM: XLB. <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />Item Description: Approving teeny Kell Contract for Architectural Services Relating to Our <br />Facility Building and Renovation Pro' ect <br />Background: In December, 2002, the council authorized staff` to negotiate a contract with <br />Ankeny Kell Architects for design services for the Civic Center site improvements approved the <br />by the voters in the November, 2002, referendum. Design services for the police addition to City <br />Hall, expansion and remodeling of the maintenance facilities, and related site modifications are <br />included in this contract. <br />The contract documents have been reviewed and modif cd by the City Attorney, as well as the <br />architects' attorney. A copy of this contract is attached. (Attachment A) <br />Discussion: This contract document is a standard architectural agreement for design services. <br />The City Attorney has reviewed and modified this contract in the hest interest of the City. <br />Financial Implication: The agreed upon Pecs for these services arc estimated to he $678,595, <br />plus reimbursable expenses, and fall within normal compensation for this tie of project.
