C. <br />Department Approval: Manager reviewed; Agenda Section: <br />Consent <br />Item Description: Approving Mc Gough Construction Contract for Construction Management <br />Services relating to Our Facility Building and Renovation Project <br />Background: On January 13, 2003, the Council authorized staff to negotiate a contract with <br />Mc Gough Construction for construction management services for the Civic Center site <br />improvements approved by the voters in the November, 2002, referendum. Construction <br />management services for the police addition to City Hall, expansion and remodeling of the <br />• <br />Maintenance facilities, and related site modifications are included in this contract. <br />The contract documents have been reviewed and modified by the City Attorney, as well as <br />McGou.gh s attorney. A copy of this contract is attached. (Attachment A) <br />Discussion: This contract document i <br />is a standard architectural agreement for construction <br />management services. The City Attorney has reviewed and modified this contract In the best <br />interest of the City. <br />Financial Implication-. The agreed upon fees for these services are estimated to be $400,000 <br />plus general condition expenses, and fall within accepted compensation for this type of pro4 ject. <br />The cost for these services falls within the overall budget of the project. <br />ect. <br />Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of this contract for construction <br />management for a police addition on City Hall, expansion and remodeling of the Maintenance <br />Facility and related site improvements <br />Motion to approve the attached contract with Mc Gough Construction for construction <br />management services for the Civic Center building and site improvements. <br />Prepared By: Duarte Schwartz <br />
