The meeting notice was posted in City <br />Hall, on the City "s web page and on Cable Channel 16. News releases about the meeting were <br />sent to all the local media. About 100 people expressed interest in the meeting and 65 people <br />attended the meeting. A list of attendees is attached. <br />I made the following information available to everyone who attended the meeting, The <br />information included, <br />2003 Ramsey County Election Calendar <br />2. Minnesota State Statute 412.02, and 205.065 <br />3. Village of Roseville Ordinance 702 establishing primary election (August 1973) <br />4. City of Roseville Ordinance 115 8 amending primary election language (March 1 995 ) <br />5. City of Roseville Ordinance 1 264 establishing even year City elections (June 2002) <br />6. Email from League of NTN Cities — conmYnents about primary election <br />7. LMC — list of cities with population 25 }000 to 45,000 and whether they hold pfimaries <br />8. Fetter- from Ramsey County commenting on cost of ballots <br />9. News Article discussing value of Primary <br />10. Email from constituent that specifically addressed to Task Force members <br />The meeting began at 7 *00 and gent until 8:20 p.m. We started out with about 20 to 25 <br />minutes of discussion about cost of a regular and primary election, voter turnout* value of <br />voting, impact of going to even year elections, etc. Following the initial discussion, I asked <br />attendees to provide reasons to keep the pr'ary and reasons to eliminate the primary and <br />other- issues. I recorded the information on flipcharts. <br />Everyone was given the opportunity to speak, and I went rack several tunes to ask for input in <br />each area... what follows are the conurtents of the persons attending the February 27 Primary <br />Electron Task Force, materials described above and ernails that I have received on the issue. <br />Other issues arc discussed in emails and Ietters that I received.
