City o un it Minutes - 07/22/02 P age 1 NVII, Alternative Water Supply Study (Howard Green & Water Supply Associates), y Paul Water Contract Schroeder moved, Kysylyczyn seconded, to direct staff to pursue a dower cosh wholesale contract for potable water with St. Paul Regional Water Services. Public Works Superintendent Schwartz introduced the Water Source Study prepared by Howard R. Green Company to review alternatives to the current wholesale water contract with St. Paul Regional Water Services, initiated in 1974, and expiring in 2004. Mr. Schwartz stated that the City has purchased water from St. Paul Regional Water Services exclusively since 1962 when the water distribution system was put into service. The City of Roseville supplies wholesale water to the City of Arden Hills through another joint agreement. Mr. Schwartz introduced Dave Rabey and Katherine Jones of Howard R. Green Company, who were available to respond to technical questions regarding the report. Mr. Schwartz reviewed various options outlined in the recently completed Water Source Study. The study included a projected cost analysis, with the three of the six most lucrative options ranging between $2.25 - $2.2$ per thousand gallons of water. The study gave consideration to the current and projected needs of the City of Roseville, as well as those of the City of Arden Hills and the City of Little Canada as wholesale purchasers. Mr. Schwartz stated that considerations including . maintaining the City's current bevel of quality; water treatment facility site issues; plant operations and the impact on staff; regulatory issues; and budget impacts.
