<br />Item Description: Consideration of a Pathway on Larpenteur Avenue from Oxford Street to Reservoir
<br />Woods Trailhead, just East of Date Street
<br />Background: At the August, 1,9, 2002, Council, meeting, staff was directed, to confinue to pursue final
<br />plans and state apiproval for a 6-foot-wide concrete sidewalk with crosswalks and intersection
<br />enhancements, on Liarpenteur Avenue from, Oxford Street to the Reservoir, Woods T'railhead,. The state
<br />has given preliminary appro�v,al of the construction, plans. The construction plansi are now ready for, final
<br />state approval, after slight modifications"
<br />Policy Discuss I"on.: This comdoris identified in the City"s Pathway Plan as aprioln"ty for a connecting trail
<br />from Oxford to the T'railh,ead of Reservoir Woods, just east of Kent Street on Larpenteur Avenue. This
<br />would result in the closing of a majo�r gap in, the looping, of major trails in the City. City staff has completed
<br />estimates of the cost to, construct a sidewalk/trail within existing right-of-way along this com'dor.
<br />Financial Implications: The estimated, construction cost", as identified in August 2002, is $13401,0�00. Th;
<br />proposed funding for a six foot concrete sidellwalk with minor enhancements.i as presented in August was a,,,-r,,.
