Consider Reorganization of Fire Department <br /> 24 As previously presented to the City Council, Fire Chief Tim O'Neill briefly sum- <br /> 25 marized the formal approval request for the Fire Department's reorganization, de- <br /> 26 tailed in RCA dated October 10, 2011. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Mayor Roe noted that at the last discussions, it was indicated that Job Descrip- <br /> 29 tions would come back to the City Council for action; however, after further anal- <br /> 30 ysis, Chief O'Neill and City Manager Roe advised that this would not be neces- <br /> 31 sary. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Pust moved, Johnson seconded, authorizing the Fire Department to complete the <br /> 34 reorganization as described in the Request for Council Action (RCA) dated Octo- <br /> 35 ber 10, 2011, including reclassification for the Fire Marshal and Shift Commander <br /> 36 positions, while establishing a new position titled `Battalion Chief of Emergency <br /> 37 Medical Services." <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Roll Call <br /> 40 Ayes: McGehee; Willmus: Johnson; Pust; and Roe. <br /> 41 Nays: None. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Councilmember Pust thanked Chief O'Neill for the cost savings. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 c.
