EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 14th day of April, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Johnson, Kehr, Cushman, Matson, and Demos, and the following were absent: None. Member Cushman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 7877 "HANDS ACROSS AMERICA" AND "HANDS ACROSS THE TWIN CITIES" WHEREAS, on May 25, 1986, an estimated six million Americans will hold hands to form a human chain from Los Angeles to the Statue of Liberty in New York; and, WHEREAS, on May 25, 1986, residents of the Twin Cities will also hold hands to form a human chain from the State Capitol to the University of Minnesota; and, WHEREAS, the purpose of such project is to raise funds for the hungry and homeless; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Roseville hereby encourages the citizens of Roseville to suport the purposes of the "Hands Across America" and the "Hands Across the Twin Cities" projects by individual participation and/or donations of funds. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, this 14th day of April, 1986. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Matson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Johnson, Kehr, Cushman, Matson, and Demos, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
