Forestry Service for a $7,,000 grant to be used for repro- <br />I <br />g,ramminig of softwarie,, publicity, promotion and documentation., The <br />a <br />implementation details are yet to bell worked out and if approved would <br />0 <br />involve the Finance Department, Tree Task Force and the Parks and <br />Recreat ion Com issio(T. e <br />PIQLICYi OBJECTIVE <br />This program is, consistent with past City pract ices involving volun <br />teer program development and in volunteer participation by residents. <br />It, would also be, an, important part of the goals of the City in terms <br />of reforestation,, aesthetic improvement and conservation. <br />FIAANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />There would, be ink,ind, services required of the City 'in terms of t lime <br />to develop and implement the proig,ra,m,. The- grant obtal" ned from the <br />U.S. Folresitry Service would cover any, cash requirements. Based on <br />,early estimates,, • the City could explecit less than $10,000 - $15,000 per <br />year for reforestation and other conservation measures. <br />STAFF' RECO)MNDATIONS <br />The proposed Roundup Program has been recommended by the Tree Task <br />Force, the Parks, and Recreation Commission and City Staff. <br />QOUNCIL ACTION' REOUESTED <br />a <br />Motion, adopting the conicept of develolp,ing the Roundup Program allowing <br />0 <br />Roseville residents the option, on a voluntarily basis, of rounding up <br />their, utility bill payment, to the next whole dollar with the proceeds <br />beinig used, for riefolresitation a m <br />nd other conservation easures, the <br />a a <br />final implementation being subject to Council review and approval. <br />
