This program includes the, removal of diseased elm trees <br />101 <br />and, stumps on property within the city. <br />On Wedneisday, April, 8l, 1992,, bids were received for the program. The <br />bids are summarized as follows: <br />A-! By city policy, the city bears the cost of all boulevard <br />tree removal, 'The cost for removal of diseased elms on privia,, <br />property is charged to the affected property owner., <br />11 <br />The diseased tree removal program is financed out of the general fund. <br />The 1992 buidget contains $125,,000 for this program under the contractu- <br />al, services line itiemi, Although the total estimated bid amount 'is for <br />$34,000, the historical actual figuries are at approximately $25,,000,, <br />WeNwill monitor the amounts on a monthly basis to insure budget com4now <br />PI i,an,ice . <br />
