EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF rHE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD June 9 1986 * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the city of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall in said City on the 9th day of June , 1986, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. The following members were present: Cushman, Johnson, Matson, Kehr, and Demos, and the following members were absent: None. Member Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved lts adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7915 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTICN OF PETITION TO ABANDON COUNTY DITCH 5 AND SUBMISSION OF PETITION 10 BOARD OF MANAGERS OF RICE CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT WHEREAS, County Ditch No. 5 (tte "Ditch"), Ramsey County, Minnesota, is a ditch project which affects lands exclusively within the City of Roseville and the City of New Brighton, in said County, and WHEREAS, the Ditch is no longer of public benefit and utility because (i) the Cities have installed drainage facilities in the area served by the Ditch, (ii) the properties surrounding the Ditch are no longer used for agricultural purposes, and (iii) the Ditch has ceased to perform its function and its restoration is not practical, and WHEREAS, the abandonment of thE Ditch will be conducive to public health, convenince, end welfare, and WHEREAS, the proper authority 1D whom a petition for abandonment should be submitted is tLe Board of Managers of the Rice Creek Watershed District (thE~ "District"), and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby instructs the City Manager, City Attorney and Ci ty Engineer to prepare a Petition to bE~ submitted to the Board of Managers of the Rice Creek Watershed District asking for an abandonment of County Ditch No.5.
