REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 2 -25 -91 <br />ITEM NO.: B. - 4- <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />0 C�Q6_ Consent <br />Item Description: Requests for a blanket minor variances. <br />Background: <br />1. In April 1989, the City Council adopted a policy to issue <br />blanket minor variances for driveway sideyard setbacks. <br />This policy was instituted to simplify variance requests <br />which came up when driveway setback violations were noted <br />during the City's pavement management program. <br />2. In accordance with that policy, the following minor <br />variances are presented for Council approval: <br />a. John McKenny request for a 3 foot variance at 1307 W. <br />Skillman Avenue. <br />b. Elizabeth and William Orr request for a 4 foot variance <br />at 1308 Draper Avenue. <br />C. Mabel Hayden request for a 1 foot variance at 1258 <br />Draper Avenue. <br />d. Robert Cooper request for a 4 foot variance at 1266 <br />Draper Avenue. <br />e. Karl Liescheck request for a 5 foot variance at 1190 <br />Skillman Avenue. <br />Policy Oblectives: <br />1. To bring existing non - conforming driveways in conformance <br />with the ordinance by either granting a variance or <br />requiring that they be installed with proper 5 foot setback. <br />Financial Imulications: <br />None. <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />1. It is recommended that the City Council approve the blanket <br />minor variances as requested. <br />
