March 7, 19 9 1
TO: Steve Sarklozy
CityManager
FROM,*, Ed Burrell
F 1 IF Wrector
ina,nce i
U
In early January, the legislature and,Governor once aga2.n reduced
our State LGA. 'This cut,, which will come from our July 15, 1991
State Aid, payment and will be in the amount, of $14.1,374. AgajLn,,
it applears, we will not be permitted to recover that reduction 2.n
sur 199,2 budget levy.
In total, Roseville has lost approximately -$242,374 with no
opportunity 'to f3.nd alternate revenue sources.
While Roseville could absorb the effect somewhat of the first LGA
a
Cuti? it, is not going to be possible to find other revenues to
cover thiel, most recen,t action which will affect us in 1991. 1
haVe outlined below a proposed, program to compensate for that
1 4a
los's with a m,in=*al inpact on 1991 service delivery,,
Reductions in Budgeted but unfilled positions: $ 72j941
Inicrie,asile busi,ness li'Leenses fees 510011
Fund 1991 general fund capital equipment from
Plant and Ecru.-Lpment DepreciatJO.On. While we have no way of knowing what a-s going
to happen, should, that reduction occur without an opportunity to
di
increase our revenues, a cut in services will probably be una
V Adiable.
O.L
I would appreciate your review of thi's information as well as an
opportunity to d iscuss the issuies wi th the Department Heads 4
