Department Approval <br />��S�E <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date.- 1-3-11 <br />Item No..- 7. h <br />Acting City Manager Approval <br />Item Description.- Annual City Sign Permits for 2011 <br />I BACKGROUND <br />2 The City Council annually approves sign permits for City events held throughout the year by multiple <br />3 City Departments. The City Code, Signage Section 1009.003A2 states "City and Public Signs.- Except <br />4 for traffic-related signage, all permanent city, school or other governmental unit signage including flags <br />5 must be approved by the City Council."' <br />6 <br />"7 For 2011 the Departments prepared the attached list of signage requirements for the entire year,, <br />recognizing that some events may change dates or times slightly. <br />9 <br />10 The signs and displays must adhere to setback provisions, except for directional signage, which may be <br />"I'll at the property line. <br />12 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />13 Staff recommends the Council approve the 2011 sign permit for City uses and promotions as listed in <br />14 the attached summary. <br />16 REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />I 7 By motion, approve the 2011 sign permit for City uses and promotions as listed in the 2011 Sign <br />I Summary, dated 01 /3/ 11. <br />E <br />Prepared by: Lonnie Brokke., Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments: A: Listing of Temporary Sign age <br />Page I of 3 <br />
