Department Approval
A&
Item Des,crit p il on:
Date: 4121108
Item: 7.e
Jam,kspvlffi
Request for Council Action
Date: 04-14-08
Item Number: Tlk
Manager Approval Agenda Section
Renewal of St., Paul Fire Department Training Facility Lease Agreement
Background: The Roseville Fire Department does not own or operate a fire
training center. Instead, we lease time at the St., Paul Fire Department and
Minn olis Fire Department training ce,nters, which is a cost effective way to
provide firefighter training. Our firefighters would benefit from the training
provided at these facilities and it would be cost prohibitive for the City of
Roseville to construct it's own fire training center. Thus, we are seeking to renew
a lease agreement, in which, the Roseville Fire Department leases time at the St.,
Paul Fire Department Training Center. T'he Roseville Fire Department will also
continuo using the Minneapolis Fire Department training center for some of our
training center needs.
Policy Implications: T'he City of Roseville would enter into a Facilities Lease
Agreement with the City of St., Paul Fire Department.,
Fiinanciial: Lease rates follow a set schedule based on which facilities are being
used and for how long. Funding would come from the council - roved fire
department training budget.,
Staff Recommendation: Staff recommendation is for council to approve the
Facilities Lease Agreement with the City of St., Paul Fire Department.
Council Action Requested: Motion to approve the Facilities Lease Agreement
between the City of Roseville Fire Department and the City of St., Paul Fire
Department for the use of the fire training facility.,
Attachment.-
