Commissioners asked whether the City Code allowed for an alternate youth commissioner. Curti <br />explained how an alternate youth commissioner was appointed and clarified that the code says the <br />City Council can appoint youth commissioners but does not specify titles for youth commissioners. <br />Commissioner Grefenberg asked staff to clarify the question whether the commission could appoint <br />alternate youth commissioners, and he asked that the issue be clarified before the interviews of <br />prospective youth commissioners. City Manager Malinen agreed to the request. <br />Commissioners clarified that the prizes for the essay contest will come out of the 2012 budget. <br />Curti explained that some people have argued that the proposed constitutional amendment that <br />would require anyone wanting to vote to show a government issued would disproportionally affect <br />senior citizens and low income people. <br />Announcements <br />Commissioner Grefenberg said the Operations Committee currently included him and Chair <br />Singleton, plus the chairs of all of the standing committees Outreach; Program Planning; <br />Operations; and Demographics and Diversity. <br />Commissioner Grefenberg said he would resign as Program Planning Committee Chair at its next <br />meeting. <br />Reminder that the November meeting has moved to November 16, at 6:30 p.m. to accommodate the <br />school board elections. <br />Adjournment <br />Commissioner McKenzie moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded motion to adjourn.
