He requested the PWETC review and comment on this plan update. Zack Hansen from Ramsey County will be at the meeting to discuss the update and seek feedback. This email is being sent to city managers and administrators, as well as municipal recycling coordinators and Saint Paul planning district recycling coordinators. Revision to the draft Ramsey County Solid Waste Management Master Plan are now available for public review, and I am calling your attention to its availability, and to seek your comments. Comments are being taken on the master plan through November. At this time we expect to bring the master plan forward to the County Board for consideration in January. Between now and then a regional component to the plan will also be completed; when that is available for review we will let you know. At the bottom of this email is information about how to find the draft plan, and how to comment. In March, 2011 the Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) adopted the Metropolitan Solid Waste Management Policy Plan, 2012 -2030. State law requires metropolitan counties to revise their solid waste master plans to implement the new Policy Plan. Ramsey County staff has been working on revisions to the County's Solid Waste Management Master Plan since April, and we have provided progress reports over the summer as that process continued. During this time we have sought, and received, significant public engagement in the planning process, and the draft plan incorporates a lot of what we have heard.
