Attachment A <br /> 1 EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br /> 2 OF THE <br /> 3 CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> 4 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br /> 8 of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the th day of , <br /> 9 2011 , at 6:00 p.m. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The following members were present: <br /> 12 <br /> 13 and the following were absent: <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 RESOLUTION No. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Part-Time Firefighter PERA Declaration for Cory Burton <br /> 20 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 WHEREAS, the policy of the State of Minnesota as declared in Minnesota Statutes <br /> 23 353.63 is to give special consideration to employees who perform hazardous work and <br /> 24 devote their time and skills to protecting the property and personal safety of others; and <br /> 25 <br /> 26 WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 353.64 permits governmental subdivisions to <br /> 27 request coverage in the Public Employees Police and Fire plan for a non-full-time fire <br /> 28 fighter provided the fire service position regularly engages the employee in the hazards of <br /> 29 fire fighting as an employee of a designated fire department. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 BE IT RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council, of The City of Roseville, Minnesota <br /> 32 hereby declares that the position of Part-time Firefighter, currently held by Cory Burton <br /> 33 #50270, for primary services provided, that of a firefighter engaged in the hazards of fire <br /> 34 fighting. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this governing body hereby requests that the named <br /> 37 employee be accepted as a member of the Public Employees Police and Fire Plan <br /> 38 effective the date of the employee's initial Police and Fire Plan salary deduction by the <br /> 39 governmental subdivision. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br /> 42 , and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and <br /> 43 the following voted against the same: . <br /> 44 <br /> 45 WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
